Best Traffic Exchange For Blog & Website

Traffic Exchange For Blog & Website

After doing up nice websites with interesting contents, the webmasters' dilemma is usually one of attracting visitors to their sites. Having more visitors is gratifying; it is a reward that website owners deserve for putting time and effort into their sites.

Traffic exchange networks were designed to promote visitor traffic to websites or blogs. The idea is simple – members of the network surf each other's sites. Upon setting up an account with a traffic exchange program, you will be entitled to earn 'credits' by manually surfing other members' sites. Depending on the program, you may have anything between 0.5 to 1.0 credit for every site you visit. There is a timer at the top or bottom frame of the page to compel you to remain at the site for a period of time. This can range between 10 to 30 seconds. You are then required to click one of the images to correspond with the given image in order to proceed to the next random site. This is to prevent auto surfing hacks that may cheat the system.

With the 'credits' you earn, you can assign them to your blogs. For every visitor you get to your blog, 1 credit will be deducted until all your 'credits' are spent. In a nutshell, the more blogs you visit, the more visitors you get to your blogs.

Alas, no program is perfect. While the concept of traffic exchange sounds good, there are the negative aspects that you should consider as well. I'll summarize the good and bad points of traffic exchange.

Pros of traffic exchange

1. The programs are free, that is if you are not buying the 'credits' but earning them.

2. For some programs, you can specify the category of blogs you would like to view or the sort of visitors you would like to have. The traffic is therefore targeted.

3. While viewing other member blogs, you may come across a couple of interesting ones that you can re-visit or learn from.

4. Since the programs work well only if they have a wide network of members, the administrators often conduct mini contests and games to interest the members. You may find some fun in these communities.

Cons of traffic exchange

1. The biggest negative point is that such traffic exchanges run counter to many advertising programs, especially those that pay you based on impressions you get to your site. A notable one is Google AdSense. If your site's traffic is mainly through traffic exchanges, be prepared to receive reminders like this from the Google administrator:-

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s) through users of third-party programs paid or provided with other incentives to visit your site. Such programs may include, but are not limited to auto-surf, pay-to-surf, pay-to-read, or pay-to-click sites.

2. A number of the sites that register with traffic exchanges are new sites and are not worth the time reading. Many of the established ones that have a good following of readers do not need such traffic exchange programs to boost their traffic.

3. After surfing for a while, you would also find yourself looking at the same sites over and over again, simply because only a fraction of the members are active users. It may be boring in that sense.

4. While I make it a point to read some sites, I believe that many people don't. They may be doing their homework or watching television, and mindlessly clicking the image after every 30 seconds or so. You may be getting more visitors but these are not the people who appreciate your blog contents.

Blog Traffic Exchange sites

If you want to have a go at it, here are the ones I think you can consider.

Blogmad Blogmad

This has a 1:1 ratio, which means that for every site you visit, someone will visit yours. The surf timer is 25 seconds and the site layout, ideas, and image icons (with the two big eyes) are pretty nice.

Blog Explosion Blog Explosion

The surf ratio is 2:1, i.e. for every two blogs you visit, one person will visit yours. The saving grace is that they have about close to 50,000 blogs registered, although I have an inkling that only a small percentage of these are active. They do run contests like Battle of the Blogs which add to the fun of using their service.

Blog Soldiers Blog Soldiers

Another 2:1 ratio traffic exchange. Nothing fanciful about the site, and the administrators should do more work to build up their membership base.

Blog Advance Blog Advance

Their surf ratio of 1:1 sounds attractive, and like a few other programs, they throw in free bonus points when you log in or surf. What I didn't like was their lack of response. I raised a technical problem concerning adding a site and despite 2 messages, they have not replied. Such a contradiction to their statement that “at Blog Advance your voice doesn't fall on deaf ears.” Also, I received error messages on a few occasions despite having clicked the correct surfbar images and was unable to proceed to subsequent blogs. I guess there are unresolved bugs in the coding of their program. (Update: This service is no longer available and link is therefore removed.)

EasyHits4U

This is another 1:1 traffic exchange site that seems to have more commercial sites registered with them than blogs. It has a 30-second timer giving viewers a lot of time to view the blogs. The thing that stands out is that they pay you cash for active surfing ($0.50 for 1000 sites viewed)

TrafficG Traffic G

This is not blog specific, and you will see a number of non-blog websites. The ratio of 1:1 is good, and the longer surf time of 30 seconds means that you might get more quality traffic, people who browse your blog contents.

Blogazoo Blogazoo

They have a 4:3 ratio, and credit incentives to read blogs and find the 'gazoos'.(Update: This service is temporarily not available and link is removed.)

Linkreferral Linkreferral

I happened to come across this site last week. Essentially, when you registery our blog with them, other members can review your site, give a rating and post comments. The more sites you visit or review, the higher your blog rank will be, and the more likely that your blog will be seen by others. Unlike the other programs, you will expect visitors to go through what you write in order to review your blog.

Conclusion

If your blog is new, traffic exchange may do wonders in sending visitors to your site. Surfing other members' sites is also a good way to learn useful tips to improve on your blog. For a wider exposure, you would want to have your blog listed in Blog DirectoriesFeed Directories, and search engines like Google,YahooMSN and Ask.com. Also, submit your Blog to the various Search Engines. Nothing beats content though, and if you have good quality writing, you can be sure that your blog will be read.

I have tried out the traffic exchange sites for the purpose of this writing. With the credits, I have bought banner and text link ads since advertising a blog is not against Google's TOS. These ads appear at the traffic exchange sites when members are surfing, and make your site more visible.

Feel free to share your experience on the above sites, but please refrain from posting suggestions of new traffic exchange sites. There are hundreds of them and if you'd like, do a keyword search and try them out. New traffic exchange sites are created practically everyday. Run an eBay search and you will see a number of them being sold too. It is alright to register with a few of them, but unless you intend to spend all your time surfing member sites, there is little reason to be registered in a hundred traffic exchange sites.

If you are ready to submit your blog to blog directories for better search engine optimization and publicity, read the articles on “Submit Blog to Blog Directories”Part (I)Part (II), and Part (III).

While you are looking at traffic exchange sites, you may also want to consider earning money while you are surfing the net. AGLOCO seems to have a nice scheme for you which you may want to take a look. You may also want to consider having AuctionAds to display an eBay auction widget which is compatible with AdSense and other ad systems. No harm trying it since it might give you an extra income.

10 things do not do with Google Adsense

10 Great things NOT to do with Google AdSense
There is no question that you can make some good money with Google AdSense, but you’re setting yourself up for disaster if you make any of these Top 10 mistakes!

1. Do not use fake information when opening your Google AdSense account.

Google says that’s a no-no and they will cut your account off and keep all the money you may have earned. Besides, trying to hide your true identity can cause serious problems with the I.R.S. or whoever your tax authority is.

2. Do not hack or modify Google AdSense code other than to change the parameters that Google authorizes you to change.

Any attempt to bypass Google’s built-in algorithms not only poses a danger to the integrity of the network, but it threatens the financial model that Google operates under. You’re not dealing with some Mom-and-Pop company here, and Google has the legal muscle and deep enough pockets to drag you through every court in the land if you damage their business with your hacking antics.

3. Keep AdSense ads off of your registration, confirmation, and all "thank you" pages.

Don’t ask me why you can’t put your ads there. It makes sense to me that those would be wonderful locations. Google thinks otherwise, however, and doing so is a hanging offense according to their Terms of Service.

4. Do not display AdSense ads and a competitor's ads (like Overture's) on the same page at the same time.

That just makes plain good sense. Google doesn’t demand 100% SITE loyalty from you, but they do insist that their own ads not be cluttered up by offerings from their competitors.

5. Don't "beg for clicks" or provide any incentive for clicking on your Google AdSense ads.

This is a biggie and you see this rule violated all the time. Any of the “get paid to do stuff” sites that put Google ads in the member’s control panels are walking the plank and they don’t even realize it. Even those sites with the polite little messages asking you to “help keep my site running by clicking on our sponsor’s ads” are asking to be cut off if those happen to be Google ads.

6. Never click on the ads running on your own site, even if you are genuinely interested in the product or service and are thinking of buying it!

Nothing screams FRAUD louder than a webmaster running up his or her own click counts by happily clicking on ads from their own site. The Google Gods can track this activity and it won’t be long until you find yourself getting a goodbye note from their fraud team.

7. No misleading labeling

Google is very specific about what text can be placed around their ads. Their Terms of Service state: “Publishers may not label the ads with text other than ‘sponsored links’ or ‘advertisements.’ This includes any text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.”

This is to keep visitors from becoming confused and barking up Google’s tree when they clicked on an ad that led to a porn site instead of the recipe site they were expecting to visit.

8. Avoid keyword spamming and other divisive tricks

You may be tempted to buy one of those “generates thousands of key-word rich pages in seconds” programs that are so popular these days but I’ll tell you this: Their days are numbered. Google is wise to such shenanigans and they will be hot on your trail. Other prohibited gimmicks include:

• ”Sneaky” page redirects that send a visitor off to a different site then they were expecting to visit.

• Multiple sites, domains, pages, etc. which have substantially duplicate content.

• Hidden text or links of any type.

• Excessive outbound links on any page. Google recommends no more than 100. I’d keep it way below that.

• And here is a nugget of wisdom straight from Google’s mouth: “Do not participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or Page Rank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web as your website may be affected adversely by those links.

9. Don’t advertise anything on Google’s prohibited items list.

It’s a lot shorter lists than PayPal’s or eBay’s, but it includes a lot of the same stuff like hacking/cracking content, porn, illegal drugs, gambling sites, beer or hard alcohol (I guess wine is OK), weapons, and the other usual stuff.

10. And the 10th dumbest thing NOT to do with Google AdSense is to let the other nine things stop you from running an honest site that’s designed to make the most out of this very profitable opportunity that Google offers!

Learn Google Adsense

Google Adsense

In this Adsense tutorial I will show you the basics to learn google adsense, how to get started, how to apply for adsense, what you should have before you apply for adsense, how much does it cost, how to make money from google adsense, what kind of ad formats there are and so on, I hope this adsense tutorial will be helpful for you, I will try to explain it to you in a beginners sense, this adsense tutorial will get you up and running in no time without to much information to make your head spin, you will also find up to date Adsense news articles, links to free website templates and other helpful stuff, so pull up a seat grab a cold drink and let's begin.

What is Google Adsense ?
It is a program that you can participate in that lets you put small ads on your webpage, when somone clicks on one of the ads you get some money, the ads are relevant to the content on your website, if your website is about painting cars you might get ads about car paint or books on how to paint cars, google will scan your site and pick up on your content.

What does it cost me ?
Nothing, the program is free.

Do I have to live in the USA to join ?
No

What should I have before I apply for adsense ?
A working website, not one that is under construction, good content, lets say if I search for how to paint a car, I want to get info on how to do just that and not go off on ten other things with little info and a lot of ads, have at least three to five good articles and some useful links, If you only have one page right now with good content that should be ok, If you get turned down add some pages with content and apply again, remember to try to stick to one topic, that way when google scans your page the ads will be relevant to your site topic.

How much money can I make with adsense ?
It all depends on how much the advertiser pays, It could be ten cents or ten dollars per click, the range is wide and pay's different on all topics, If you have a popular site and a lot of people are clicking the ads you could make hundreds of dollars a day.

Are you ready ?
If you have a site up and running and want to apply for adsense lets do it.

How to apply for the adsense program
Ok, if you don't have a google account you will need to create one, go to google.com, at the upper right you should see a box that says create account now, click it, put in your email and pick a password, pick your location, read the terms of service then accept and create your account, you will get a confirmation email soon, follow the instructions in the email to get things started, after you have an account go to google and sign in,  you should see my services, click on Adsense, see the sign up button, click it, fill in the information needed, read the Adsense policies and make shure your site is within the guidelines of the terms and click the submit information button, you will receive a confirmation email soon, follow the instructions in the email, thats it, now give the reviewers a couple of days to check out your site, you should get an email letting you know the status of your application.

What kind of ad's do I have to choose from ?
Google ad formats

Setup your ads

Log in to your adsense account, go to the adsense setup tab, click, you will see adsense for content, click it, you can add a search box or referrals a little later, right now let's get some content ad's going, you should seead unit and link unit, pick the type you would like on your site, then move to ad format and color, pick the format and color you wish to use, you also can select square or round corners, in more options you can leave show public service ads checked, don't worry about channels yet, if you are in wizard mode click continue when you are done, if you are using single page you should see your adsense code box, this contains the code you need to copy and paste in your website html code with your html editor, where you place the ad's is up to you, try position changes to see what works best for your layout, you should see public service ad's start to show, this is normal until google scans your site for content, after the scan you will start to the content ad's, this might take a little time, maybe a day, so relax and wait for the ads to show, remember do not! click your ads to see if they are working and do not have your friends start clicking your ads.

Now lets go over the placement or position of the ads, where you put your ads on your page is very important, it can the difference between a click and no click, but remember most web sites are different so what works well with some might not work well with yours, so over time try new ad formats, colors, and positions to see what works best with your page.

Some good place's for ads
Here is the heat map for ad placement.

Ad placement on page

If you have checked the heat map you will see that the best places for the ads to be are the middle center and the left upper part of the page, we read left to right and a person will go that part of the page most of the time, try to make the ads blend in with the color and text of the page, in other words if the background of the page is white don't make the ad background red or something, it would be better a white background, there is a thing called ad blindness, what this means is that a person sees the ad and knows it's an ad and skips over it, or the colors of the ad do not agree with the persons likes and it will be ignored, If you have an ad box in the main text body area try to make the text rap around the ad and blend in with the content or text, also put an ad at the bottom or end of the main text content so people will have somewhere to go when they are done if they like.

Adsense Trick To Earn Money

Hack adsense And Earn Money - Online

AdSense is the best PPC (pay-per-click) programmer in the world. Because it have a higher paying rate. So if you are using AdSense for a long time and cant make any money with it. You need help. In this tutorial, you will learn what is adsense, how adsense works and how you can cheat them.To hack adsense is not easy but it is also not impossible.

How AdSense works, the basics

You put ads on your website, your visitor see those ads. and when they click on them you get money. if you are thinking that the whole thing is simple as that; then wake up, your in a dream.

Google place their ads, anyone can see them but google will start tracing them if they click on the ads. but the million dollar question is how they trace the clicker? here how they do it:

1. By Cookie.

2. By IP address.

3. By Referrer.

4. By User-agent.

5. Screen Resolution.

We will try to beat google in this tutorial. by hiding or faking those information.

Now to the earning section. How google calculate earning. if you get your first visitor, your impression will be 1. Impression means now many times your ads are shown to the public. google will calculate the impressions and the clicks, and pay you that amount. But if your 1st visitor clicked on a ad, it will be suspicious. because google will do this calculation:

number of clicks (divided by) number of impression (%)

it will give a numerical result like 10% so google is calculating the ratio of the clicks and impressions. think that you have 13 impressions and 1 visitor clicked on a ad, so the calculation is

1 / 13% = 7.69230769

this number is called the CTR. but if you have 1 impression and 1 click your CTR will grow to 100. google will ban you if the CTR is higher then 10. [7-9 is safe]

Every ad has it own value. like an insurance ad, it is a 14$ ad. google will not pay that amount to you per click. if your CTR is 7, google will divide the amount with CTR. and you will get the result. like:

14/7=2$/per click

so getting the high paying ads are important. i will show you how to get it.
